Red Book Assembly
Every week at Whoberley we have a special assembly. The class teacher picks a few children who have completed extra special work or who have tried really hard with their learning to receive a special award from Mrs. Simmons. The children get the chance to show their special work and talk about it to the rest of the school and parents are invited to come and watch too. All of the children try really hard to get into the Red Book!
The Golden Broom
At Whoberley we are lucky to have beautiful classrooms and lots of lovely fun resources to help us with our learning. Our teachers expect us to look after our environment and our equipment so every night Mr. Kelly, who is our caretaker, goes and checks that each class has kept their room tidy and awards points to those that have. The class that receive the most points win the coveted ‘Golden Broom’ which they can proudly display in their classroom for a week.
Whoberley Points and the Whoberley Cup
All staff members can give Whoberley points out to all children except the children in their own class. Points are given out for things like showing good manners, being helpful and making lots of effort with work. On Friday afternoon, in Red Book assembly, the Whoberley cup is awarded to the class with the most Whoberley Points. Everyone cheers if their class wins the cup! |
